Lots of themed sets
Strong magnets in a wide variety of brightly colored geometric shapes give littles endless potential for fun. Creatively themed sets cater to every interest, from animals to robots.
Magformers magnets are a bit stronger than those in other magnetic building toys, and the shapes are more varied (the four different sets we tested contain 17 distinct shapes). Themed sets range from safari animals to walking robots to favorite cartoon characters (they’ve partnered with Nickelodeon to release Paw Patrol, Shimmer and Shine, Blaze, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets).
Every set includes instructions for building different types of creations.
Younger children learn colors and shapes; older kids use spatial reasoning and integrate STEM concepts like physics and geometry into playtime.
Also a fantastic travel toy. The basic intro set, which contains six triangles and eight squares, can make a sphere, pyramids, a cube, and a house, for starters. Since the pieces stick together, they’re less likely to get lost during travel.
The pieces adhere to any magnetic surface. Sealed plastic pieces are easy to clean.
Like many magnetic building toys, they’re a bit pricey.
Create 3D structures from 2D nets with the award winning Rainbow 30Pc Set. Arriving with squares and triangles that are perfect for little fingers to start building a ‘magic ball,’ houses, towers and much more! See what your imagination will create! Each geometric shape contains magnets that never reject, so you’ll always hear the Magformers click. When playtime is over, use the magnetic power to simply stack and store.
